Coriander Briyani

Coriander Biryani, Cilantro Briyani, Kothamalli Biriyani

Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice -1 cup
  • Onion – 1 medium (cut lengthwise)
  • Peas – 1/4 cup (cooked)
  • Tomato – 2 diced
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder- 1/2 tsp
  • Chilli powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Oil or Ghee – 2tbsp

Grind and make a paste of:

  • Coriander leaves – 1 bunch
  • Mint leaves- 1/4 bunch
  • Greenchilli – 2 to 3

Recipe:

  1. Soak Rice for 10 minutes in water.
  2. Heat Cooker and add Oil. Add Onion and fry well. Add Peas, Tomato, Ginger garlic paste and fry well.
  3. Then add Salt, Chilli powder, Coriander powder, Garam masala powder and Ground paste. Mix well till the raw smell of masala goes.
  4. Now add Rice with 2 cups of water and cook till its done.
  5. Remove from heat.

Goes well with: Raita.
