Coconut coriander chutney(Thengai kothamalli ilai chutney)

Coconut coriander leaves chutney,Thangai kothamalli chatni



To grind:

  • Grated coconut- 5 spoon
  • Curry leaves- 1 sprig
  • Coriander leaves- 3 sprigs
  • Green chili – 2
  • Garlic- 1/2
  • Ginger- very small piece
  • Tamarind- a pinch
  • Salt- to taste

For tampering:

  • Mustard seeds and Urad dal- 1/2 tsp
  • Small Onion-1 or 2
  • Curry leaves- 1 string
  • Oil- as required


  1. Grind Grated coconut, Curry leaves, Coriander leaves, Green Chili, Garlic, Ginger, Tamarind and Salt with little water. Keep this aside.
  2. For tampering: Heat Oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds and Urad dal. Once it splutters, add Curry leaves, Small onion and fry till Onion turns into golden brown.
  3. Pour this fried mix to the ground chutney.

Goes well with: Idly, Dosa
