Ingredients:
- Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
- Tamarind – 1 lemon size
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tspn
- Brinjal or Drumstick – 3 nos
- Hing – a pinch (optional)
- Salt – to taste
- Oil – 4 tbsp
Roast and then Grind:
- Fenugreek seeds- 1tbsp
- Thur dal – 11/2 tbsp
- Dry chilli – 4
- Coconut – 1/2
- Turmeric powder – a pinch
Recipe:
- Heat oil in a pan. Add Fenugreek seeds, Thur dal, Dry chillies and fry till it turns golden brown. Then add coconut and a pinch of Turmeric powder, mix well for 2min and remove from heat. Grind this as a paste.
- Soak Tamarind in water for 20 minutes. Then extract tamarind water from this.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, Tamarind water, Turmeric powder, Salt, Brinjal and mixwell. Allow this to boil.
- Then add the ground paste. Mix well and cook till gravy is thick.
- Remove from heat . If necessary, you can add a pinch of Hing.
- Instead of Brinjal or Drumstick, you can use yellow Pumpkin also.
