Peanut Chutney (Verkadalai Thuvayal)

Peanut Chutney, Groundnut Chutney, Verkadalai Thuvayal

Ingredients:

  • Peanut – 1½ cup
  • Coconut – 3 tbsp
  • Garlic – 1 clove (optional)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Tamarind – small gooseberry size
  • Dry red chilli  – 3
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dal – 1/4 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Recipe:

  1. Heat Oil in a pan. Roast Peanuts until it turns golden brown.
  2. Grind Peanuts, Coconut, Tamarind, Salt, Red chilli and Garlic together.
  3. Heat Oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, Curry leaves and Urad dal. Add this to to the chutney.

Goes well with: Idli, Dosa.
