Sago Upma (Javvarisi Upma)

Sago Greengram dal Upma, Javvarisi Pasiparuppu uppuma, Sabudhana Mung dal Kicchadi

Ingredients:

  • Sago (Javvarisi) – 1 cup
  • Green garam dal – 1/4 cup
  • Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
  • Urad dal – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – few
  • Hing – a pinch
  • Dry red chilli – 1
  • Coconut – 2 tsp (grated)
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coconut oil – 2 tsp

Recipe:

  1. Soak sago for 2 hrs and then filter it. Cook Dal in a cooker.
  2. Heat Oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds, Hing, Urad dal, Curry leaves and Dry red chilli.
  3. Then add sago and mix well. Now add Dal and salt to it. Combine well.
  4. Finally add grated Coconut to it. Serve hot.

Goes well with: Chutney.
