Ingredients:
- Read gram dal (split)-6 spoon
- Garlic- 2
- Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
- Tamarind- a gooseberry size
- Onion- ½
- Garlic- 1
- Tomato- 1
- Brinjal- 2
- Potato- 1
- Masala powder- 1 spoon
- Oil and Salt- as required
For seasoning:
- Mustard seeds and Urad dal- 1/2 tsp
- Hing- 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds- 1/2 tsp
- Curry leaves- few
- Onion- ½
Recipe:
- Chop Onion, Garlic, Tomato, Brinjal, Potato and keep aside.
- Soak Tamarind for 10 min and take pulp from the Tamarind.
- Cook Red gram dal, two Garlic cloves and Turmeric powder in pressure cooker or in a vessel.
- Cook Onion, Garlic, Tomato, Brinjal, Potato with Masala powder in another vessel.
- For seasoning:Heat oil in a pan. Add Mustard seeds,Urad dal, Cumin seeds and Fenugreek seeds.Once it splutter, add curry leaves, Onion, Hing and fry till it turns into golden brown.
- Finally add Tamarind pulp, cooked Red gram dal and Vegetables. Cook for another 3 to 5 min and remove from heat.
